Sports Law at Melbourne Law School
Melbourne Law School’s unique graduate program in sports law is at the cutting edge of sporting and legal knowledge. It was developed specifically for legal practitioners and sports administrators for whom an understanding of sports law will provide a real professional advantage.
Our subjects are taught by leaders in the field and our teaching staff includes Mr Malcolm Speed, recently retired Chief Executive of the International Cricket Council, Mr Braham Dabscheck, consultant to various player associations and advisory board member of the Professional Footballers’ Association and the Australian Cricketers' Association, Richard McLaren from the University of Western Ontario, Mr Nelson Rose, one of the world’s leading experts on gambling law and Dr Peter Brukner OAM from Liverpool Football Club.
Subjects can be taken as part of the Graduate Diploma in Sports Law, the Master of Laws, Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies or on a single subject basis and subjects may be credited to other courses within the Melbourne Law Masters. All sports law subjects are offered on an intensive basis over one week (excluding the weekend), providing maximum convenience to busy professionals.
