Paul Hayes completed his LL.B. degree in 1986, graduating from the Queensland University of Technology Law School. He commenced practice as a Barrister at the Sydney Bar in 1990, (after reading with Bernard Coles QC), before relocating to the Melbourne Bar in 1997, where he now conducts his practice from Owen Dixon Chambers West as a member of Dever's List and also from Chambers in London, where he is a member of 39 Essex Street, after being called to the Bar in England (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2006.
Prior to commencing practice at the Bar, Paul worked as a Lawyer in Sydney with Allen Allen & Hemsley (Allens Arthur Robinson) and Baker & McKenzie.
He specialises predominantly in Commercial & Equity Litigation and has appeared in a wide variety of cases (ranging from complex commercial matters to criminal jury trials) in numerous jurisdictions within Australia and also overseas.
Additionally, his sports law practice which sees him appear in a large number of sporting cases before a broad assortment of Courts and Tribunals throughout Australia, has prompted him to further his interest in the field of sporting disputes and their resolution, by undertaking post-graduate research in this area at the University of Sydney and also at Cambridge University, where during 2005-2006 he was a Visiting Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law and Wolfson College. Paul is a member of ANZSLA and ASPE and has published numerous articles and spoken at conferences, at home and abroad, on a wide range of sports law topics. He is the Founding Editor of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Journal and has previously been Editor of the ANZSLA Commentator.
In his past life as an athlete, Paul has represented Australia internationally in World Cup competition in the sport of Bobsleigh and is also a former first-grade Rugby Union player, having played for GPS Rugby Club in Brisbane.

Gerry Glennen was admitted to practice in Victoria in 1972. After practising in suburban practice in St Kilda, Gerry Joined the Law Institute of Victoria in 1983, where he became Director of Professional Standards and Deputy Executive Director.
During his time at the Law Institute Gerry also lectured in Legal Ethics at the University of Melbourne and established and presented the first such course at the University of the Northern Territory. Gerry also presented at many conferences and seminars, including the International Bar Association in Melbourne, Conference of Canadian Law Societies in Ottawa and the Australian Legal Convention in Hobart.
In 2000, Gerry commenced working for Basketball Victoria as in house counsel. In his present position, Gerry is responsible for overseeing and sometimes chairing basketball Tribunals throughout Victoria and assists with internal and local basketball association governance issues. Gerry also mediates disputes on behalf of Basketball Victoria.
Gerry has been a member of ANZSLA for 3 years and in 2007 became the editor of The Commentator.

Until recently, Andy Gibson was a Senior Lecturer in Law at the Law School at Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus. Andy taught, amongst other things, Sports Law to undergraduate law and sports mangement students. He is a Director of both the Masters in International Sports Law and the International Sports Law Research Centre. He has conducted Masters classes in Sports Law in South Africa and the UK.
Apart from jointly writing the "Sports Shorts" material for the ANZSLA web site with Brian Doyle, Andy is also the founding-editor of the CCH looseleaf "Australian Sports Law" and author of a number of the Tabs in the looseleaf. He is not completely pre-occupied with sport as he is also the co-author of a number of Commercial Law texts, a Tort text and two chapters in Halsburys Laws of Australia: one on on Employment Law in Australia and the other on Industrial Law in Queensland.
