Ian was elected to the ANZSLA Board in 2005 and was elected President in 2007. Ian is the first ever New Zealand President.
Ian is a litigation partner with Young Hunter in Christchurch specialising in insurance and medico/legal litigation, trusts, and sports law. Ian completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Law at King’s College, London, in 1998. Ian’s sports law practice involves organisations and individuals in a wide variety of sporting codes in areas such as doping, governance, selection disputes and contracts. Venetia Stewart is a lawyer in Middletons' dispute resolution group in Perth. Although originally from Perth, Venetia moved to Melbourne in 2006 to undertake a Master of Business (Sport Management) at Deakin University and to be closer to Australia's epicentre of sport. She returned to WA in 2009, and has remained active and interested in the sports industry despite the State's focus on its resources. Venetia has acted for a range of sporting clients, including for the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships, Tennis Australia and Football West. She has also chaired an investigation for Cycling Australia and is a chair of the Football West disciplinary tribunal.
Venetia has been a member of ANZSLA since 2006. She chaired the 2008 Melbourne conference organising committee and has been a Board member since 2008.

Andy Gibson is currently lecturing in Law at Southern Cross University (SCU) at its Beachside Campus (adjacent to the Gold Coast Airport) and was formerly a Senior Lecturer at the Law School at Griffith University on the Gold Coast Campus. Andy currently teaches International Business Law, Employment and Industrial Relations Law and Law of Torts at SCU and has taught, amongst other things, Sports Law to undergraduate law and sports mangement students. He has also been involved in running Sports Law seminars around for SCORS, the Northern Territory Department of Sport and local councils. He is the foundation editor of the CCH looseleaf publication Australian Sports Law, the Australian author for the International Encyclopedia of Laws Tab on Australian Sports Law, an author for Lexis-Nexis Halsburys Laws of Australia Tabs on Australian Employment Law and Queensland Industrial Law, as well as a number of texts on Business Law and the Law of Torts.

He has over 25 years experience as counsel in civil and criminal litigation. He is admitted as a barrister in New Zealand, Australia and England and Wales. He acts as counsel to Drug Free Sport New Zealand, the national anti-doping organisation in New Zealand. Stuart Corbishley is a sports and commercial lawyer who has advised a variety of sports organisations on a range of broadcasting, sponsorship, intellectual property and other commercial issues arising in the context of major international sports events. At Allens Arthur Robinson, Stuart managed a broad commercial practice focused on advising clients within the sports industry, including Commonwealth Games Federation, Australian Olympic Committee, V8 Supercars Australia, Sports & Entertainment Limited, AVP Pro Beach Volleyball and Ultimate Fighting Championship. In 2009, Stuart was appointed Head of Legal of the Organising Committee for the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games, and has subsequently worked as a consultant to Cricket Australia in establishing The Big Bash League, the new domestic Twenty20 competition.
